Yuna Kim wins Sportswoman of the Year

Yuna Kim won 'Sportswoman of the Year' at the 31st Annual Salute to Women in Sports which was held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. It was hosted by Women's Sports Foundation. Fellow Olympic figure skaters Michelle Kwan (1998 Silver and 2002 Bronze medalist) and Sarah Hughes (2002 Gold Medalist) were also in attendance.

Yuna and Michelle talk about dreams and role models

In a short video segment, Yuna and Michelle talks about reaching their dreams through following the footsteps of a role model. Yuna states how Michelle is her role model and inspiration for the Olympics. This segment was shown as the intro for the TV presentation of Yuna's 'All That Skate LA' Ice Show which aired on NBC yesterday (sunday).

New All That Skate LA vids

mega post incoming!

Vids from Yuna's first American Show, "All That Skate LA" @ the Staples Center. I'm only posting vids that include Yuna, instead of posting the whole show. These vids are fresh off the oven guys, since they just performed these routines a couple hrs earlier.

Yuna Kim and Michelle Kwan practice pics

Here's a vid of some practice shots of Yuna Kim and Michelle Kwan. Yuna and Michelle were practicing for their Ice Show, "All That Skate Summer" with Yuna's longtime choreographer, David Wilson.

The two figure skating legends would again join forces this saturday at the Staples Center for "All That Skate LA" Ice Show.

Line-up for Yuna's Ice Show

The line-up for Yuna's next Ice show, "All That Skate LA" has been released, and it looks like Yuna would be performing the same routines as her last show, "All That Skate Summer". She will skate to Massenet's "Meditation for Thais" and La Roux's "Bulletproof". Michelle and Stephane would also be performing to the same routines from "All That Skate Summer", Yuna's Ice Show last July. However, they did add "She's so Lovely" by Scouting for Girls as a collective performance for the ladies, which happens to be the same song in one of Yuna's commercials for Lacvert.

"All That Skate LA" will be on Oct 2 and 3 at the Staples Center. It is directed by Yuna's long-time choreographer, David Wilson

Here are some vids from Yuna's last ice show, "All That Skate Summer" which was held last July at Korea. She will be performing the following routines again this October in LA:

The ladies of the show will perform to a never-before-seen routine to the music of Scouting for Girls' "She's so Lovely", which happens to be the same background music for Yuna's Ice Kiss Lipstick Commercial for Lacvert Cosmetics:

This song is perfect for Yuna. Indeed, she's so lovely!

Operation Stalk Yuna?

After Yuna separated from her coach of 4 years, Brian Orser, her company, All That Sports (which is run by Yuna's mom) announced that she's going to start training in LA to get closer to her new choreographer Shae-Lynn Bourne. Yuna had previously trained at the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club which is managed by Orser.

AND NOW I FOUND OUT WHERE EXACTLY IN LA SHE'S TRAINING.

AT Sports had issued a statement recently:

“Kim’s new coach has not been decided yet, but she will search for a coach while she trains in LA. Meanwhile, Kim will train at East West Ice Palace, where it is known as Michelle Kwan’s personal training rink, while searching for a coach.”

Here's the address for the place:

EAST WEST ICE PALACE

11446 Artesia Blvd.

Artesia, California 90701

HOLY BOB SAGET THAT'S NOT TOO FAR FROM ME!!! *jumps up and down*

Granted, I highly doubt they would just let anyone see Yuna. I bet she has her own personal training time where they close the whole place for her...but maybe I should give it a try? If I don't see her, well at least I can still use my time to skate around (though that place is a bit pricier than other ice skating rinks in the area).

to go or not to go?
